Fox Fly Tying Desk

Another woodworking friend of mine put Jim in touch with me to create something pretty unique (in my opinion). Jim asked me to create a desk that he could tie fishing flies on. But it had a catch - it had to have a closing top because the desk was going to be in their guest bedroom and he didn't want to have to clean everything up every time they had guests. So I came up with the folding top. The bank of storage drawers are all dovetailed and the fly tying vice folds up into the desk when not in use. There's not too many pieces that I make that I'm reluctant to part with, but this desk, out of brown Maple and black Walnut is certainly one of them....it broke my heart to deliver it!
